Toronto to Tokyo or Osaka / Kyoto, Japan - $455 CAD roundtrip | [Sep 2020 to July 2021]

Air Canada has dropped the price of their flights from Toronto to Tokyo, Japan down to $455 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights are non-stop both ways. This is a new record for the cheapest *non-stop* flights from Toronto to Tokyo.
Dates up to early March 2021 are available. There are also dates in May 2021 for $466 CAD roundtrip.
There are currently Christmas travel dates available, such as Dec 20, 23 to Dec 31, Jan 7.
The flights are in and out of Tokyo's Haneda airport (HND).
Toronto to Osaka / Kyoto is also available for about $30 more, with dates as far away as May 2021.
You can also find Multi-City flights, where you fly into Tokyo, and then fly home from, say, Osaka, and keep the price in the $500s roundtrip.
It doesn't have to be Osaka that you return from, it's worth trying all airports in Japan at the moment. Some of the cheapest combinations are Tokyo and... Sapporo, Fukuoka, Nagoya, or Kobe.

Air Canada's flexible rebooking policy

With Air Canada, you can make a one-time change without a fee.
Your new travel must be completed by June 30, 2022.
If you need to cancel your flight, you can convert the remaining value of all tickets in the booking to a voucher that is fully transferable and never expires.
Update June 12th: You can now find flights from Toronto to Osaka / Kyoto, Japan with All Nippon Airways (connecting through U.S. cities) for as low as $527 CAD roundtrip. Dates up to March 2021 are available. Start with the Google Flights links below.
You can also fly into Tokyo and home from Osaka (or vice versa). It's also worth trying other cities in Japan.
Note: ANA (All Nippon Airways) has not announced any protections for future bookings past June 1st. They've been good about offering flexible refunds & changes thus far, and had been moving the eligible dates up to now.

Update August 26th: American Airlines has dropped the price of their 1-stop flights from Toronto to Tokyo, Japan down to $418 CAD roundtrip. Dates up to May 2021 are available.

2. Click on the departure date box and browse for cheap date combinations
- look for the dates that are $573 to $673 roundtrip
3. Go to Skyscanner and try the same dates you found on Google Flights. The price will be lower on Skyscanner.
You may need to click on 'Cheapest' after your Skyscanner search completes.
